Our nephew Matt came to visit us all at the end of July to the first week of August. First he did the Southern California tour with Kimmy and Juan and then headed north! We enjoyed several activities with him and my parents. We went to a S. F. Giant's game and had our friend who is the mascot (Lou Seal) come and visit us at our seats! Enzo was terrified! (If I hadn't lost my camera with all the pics the day before I would post them :( We also spent time over in Santa Cruz. We had plans to go to Roaring Camp Railroads already and then found out they were hosting an event called "Day Out With Thomas". Well as most of you know Enzo absoulutely loves Thomas the Train. So Matt endured ( with the rest of us) a bunch of choo-choo crazy kids! Enzo was really excited to ride on a train pulled by Thomas. We also took a really nice walk through Henry Cowell State Park next door and saw an amazing forest and learned a lot along the way. We also saw Thomas in action as he passed by us and once again Enzo was overjoyed to see him. Matt ended his stay with the three of us. He and I went on a segway tour of the city. That was so much fun! Our tour was over too soon as Matt and I could've riden all day! And so his trip ended too...We all had a great time with him!!
The end of the month brought us a visit with Jenn from Maryland! All of us went to Francesco's company summer party. It was a luau theme with great, food, music and lots of fun!! Then Jenn, Enzo and I drove down to L.A. to visit Kimmy and Juan. This was Enzo's first road trip and he did great! We joined Juan's family for a afternoon B.B.Q. We went for a swim and had a really nice day. They took us to the Long Beach Aquarium and Enzo befriended a seal! On the way home we stopped at the Griffith Observatory and saw panoramic views of L.A. It was a great visit! Then we were joined by Veronica, also from Maryland, for the Labor Day weekend. Of course we had to take her to on of our favorite places-Napa. We all had a wonderful time sampling wines and seeing all the beauty the wine country has to offer. The next day we took the scenic Highway 1 down to Santa Cruz to see my parents and spend some time showing them where I grew up. It was a great visit all around!
