Cousin Matt's Visit!!!

After Uncle Chris' wedding Matt came to Grandma and Papa's house for 3 weeks! Enzo and I missed him his first week as we were in Minnesota but we made up for it when we came back!! Enzo had a weekend visit planned so he got to spend a lot of time with Cousin Matt as he so named him!! Enzo, Cousin Matt, Grandma and Papa went to an amusement park called Gilroy Gardens. It is mostly geared towards the little ones but has a little something for everyone. They had a really good time even though it was extremely hot. Enzo didn't mind cooling off with ice cream!! The next day Grandma took Enzo and Matt to see Ice Age 3. He really loved the movie and showed off his big T.V. (his name for movies!) manners. He sat quietly and ate his popcorn, M&M's and his lemonade. Everytime he needed to take a sip he gestured for Grandma to hold his tray to ensure the safety of his snacks!! She of course thought it was so cute!! When I got to my parents he couldn't get out the words fast enough to describe his weekend of fun!! I stayed the night and the next day we met my parent's friends Jack and Kathy for a BBQ dinner at the beach. It was a beatiful day...we started out with some fun in the sand and water then enjoyed the company of family and friends! We had a delicious dinner followed by yummy s'mores!! Enzo of course picked out the chocolate!! We ended our day with a short stroll along the beach. The next weekend we went back to have dinner and bring Matt home with us since he left out of San Francisco. Everyone was sad to have Matt leave...until next time!!

Our Ride Around "The Block" & Enzo's Ride!!

Jen riding on Hugs!
We only got to go on 2 rides this year, one down Jen's road a ways and the other around her block...that took almost 3 hours!! We had a great time chatting and enjoying the scenery. It is so peaceful and mostly quiet except for the occasional truck or car passing. About halfway we decided to give the horses a break and let them graze on what we thought was just some sort of grass. They were really enjoying it so we took a closer look and discovered they had found some really nice alfalfa. It had spread to the side of the rode from the fields. After much coaxing we finally got them to leave and head back down the rode...they know good stuff when they smell it!! We had a really good ride and I will definitely be calling on my memory of that day to get me through some tough days at work!!

Can't decide if I like it in color or b/w!?

Enzo rode again on this trip making it his 3rd time riding Chillie! He did really well this time and held on all by himself as Lani led the horse. He had a really great time and rode for quite a while!! He still talks a lot about him riding all by himself!!

Off to Minnesota!!

Oh so small next to a John Deere tractor!!

After flying home from Seattle, Enzo and I caught a few zzzz's before taking back off on a plane bound for Minnesota to visit my friend Jen and her family!! We were really excited to see everyone! It has been a year since we went out last and Enzo could not wait to ride a horse again!! The day after we arrived it was Lani's 12th Birthday so we celebrated by going to Valley Fair Park. It has an amusement park with great rides and a water park in the middle!! Lani brought along a friend as well as her cousin. We spent all day and night there and had an absolute blast!! Enzo rode several pint sized rides and even rode his first kiddie roller coaster...not his favorite!! We all stuffed ourselves with good ol' junk food and Enzo discovered his love of cotton candy!! (Taking after his Auntie Kimmy!!) Lani had a really good celebration! For the rest of the trip we stayed more low key and spent time on the farm. Enzo loved the tire swing this year as you will see in the pics down below. The first thing on his mind every morning was the swing. We spent hours on the front lawn running around and playing. The weather was perfect this year-no humid days at all!! We lucked out for sure and I wasn't eaten by their state bird the mosquito! Jen and I were able to sneek away for a couple of rides on the horses while Lani watched Enzo. This year Enzo was able to hold on to the saddle all by himself and LOVED it!! He would have kept riding for hours!! And to think the first time we visited he was 10 months old and he shared the saddle with Jen or I and now at just over 2 1/2 years he's doing it on his own!! That's our big boy!! Lani's Dad, James, took us down to the river so Enzo could feed the ducks. He had a ball making his "tower", as he called it, of duck food!! It was a beautiful park and had a paved path that Enzo practiced riding a scooter on. He got really good at it! We also went to the community water park...so much better than just a pool!! There was 2 water slides, a lazy river, a deep pool for sports and a special kiddie area with mini slide, water spouts and much more! And it's only $6.00 to get in!! We all had a lot of fun there! We spent lazy evenings just catching up as the kids stayed up late and played!! It was really great to see all the kids! We really miss the family out there and just hope we'll be able to go again next summer!! Enjoy the pics!!
